SUE MORLEY MEMORIAL
The family of Sue Morley has designated April 23 at 1:00 PM as the time for a memorial for their mother. The location is the Birmingham Town Hall, 510 Spratley Road, Birmingham MO 64161.
Susan Little wanted to thank all of you for your kindness and prayers.
CHAIR PICKUP:
Another reminder, applicable to every Sabbath, about 45 minutes after services (3:45 PM), pickup of all folding chairs will begin. With this in mind, brethren need to have removed their belongings from the chairs & floor so as not to impede prompt chair pickup. Also, by 4:15, brethren need to begin leaving the building so that all brethren are out of the building (including restrooms) by 4:25 to allow the school custodian to begin his cleaning work.
FUND-RAISING PROJECT:
Please save the date of Sunday, April 23rd, for a Church fund-raising roofing project. Volunteers are needed, both experienced roofers as well as those with no experience. If you are not comfortable up on a roof, workers on the ground are needed to discard trash and other ground-based tasks to speed the project along. Please find a sign-up list on the information table. Many hands make for lighter work, and as many volunteers as possible are appreciated. For questions or more information please contact either Mr. Steve Olson or Mr. Rick Bolin. The proceeds will go to replenish the Church Activity Fund that covers a number of local church expenses including flowers for funerals, social activities (such as our annual summer picnic and Summer Camp scholarships), and a number of other needs throughout the year. Thanks in advance for volunteering!
ULB COOKBOOK:
The Days of Unleavened Bread Cookbook can now be found on the KCLCG.org website under the Resource Tab. The Cookbook is 23 pages in length and can be downloaded or printed. If you would like a copy of the Cookbook, and cannot access it via the Internet, please request one from Mr. John Wells either in person or by phone 816-729-8990, and you can pick it up on the first Holy Day of ULB, or he can mail it to you.
SUMMER CAMP SPONSORSHIPS:
There is opportunity for two partial scholarships to summer camp for local Kansas City brethren. If a pre-teen or teen is interested in attending an LYP camp this summer and needs some financial assistance to go, please see Gary Jones after services.
YES LESSON TODAY:
Our youth who are involved with the Y.E.S. Bible Lessons will meet today in front of the stage immediately after services to go over Lesson 6.
TEEN ACTIVITY:
Teens and parents: There will be a teen activity Saturday evening, April 29th. On the Information Table are details about the activity and a sign-up sheet.
CHURCH CAMP-OUT:

LAST DAY OF UNLEAVENED BREAD:
Services for the Last Day of Unleavened Bread will held on Monday, April 17th at the Adam’s Mark Hotel, 9103 East 39th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64133, located at the north side of I-70, diagonally across from the Royals & Chiefs stadiums. There will be two services, with the morning service beginning at 10:30 AM, with an offering taken up (so please use your pre-coded green envelopes received from HQ), and the afternoon service beginning at 2:30 PM. Dr. Douglas Winnail, Evangelist and Director of Church Administration, will be our guest speaker!
LUNCH DURING THE LAST DAY OF UNLEAVENED BREAD:
During the 2-hour lunch break, you may either:
- a) Bring your lunch and eat it inside the Conference Room (but not in the hallway). However, we are MOT permitted to take down the chairs and replace with tables, but we can temporarily move the chairs to eat in small groups and put them back when done.
- b) Purchase lunch at the BBQ restaurant adjacent to the Lobby (if overflow space is needed, you have permission to take your lunch into the bar area between the restaurant and Lobby).
- c) Drive to one of the fast-food restaurants in the area.
DETAILS FOR LUNCH AT THE BBQ RESTAURANT:
- a) Mr. Steve Bode has put some copies of the menu from the BBQ restaurant on the information table. This restaurant replaced the previous restaurant and is not owned or managed by the Adam’s Mark Hotel.
- b) While their menu has many ‘sandwiches’, the owner and the manager understand that we would NOT want any bread, croutons and such on our orders. They also understand that we will not be ordering any pork or seafood. Mr. Bode has explained these things to them so they will be better prepared to serve us between services on the Last Day of Unleavened Bread. In any case, please clarify your dietary requirements to your waiter or waitress.
- c) There will NOT be a buffet like last year. Every table will order from the menu and be served at their table. There is room for around 60 people inside the restaurant. The Hotel has agreed to let us use the additional 60+ chairs and tables in the Hotel bar area adjacent to the restaurant.
- d) While we cannot take food into the BBQ restaurant, you may bring food into the bar area adjacent to the restaurant and eat there. IF YOU EAT IN THE BAR AREA, WHETHER EATING RESTAURANT FOOD OR FOOD YOU BROUGHT, PLEASE REMOVE YOUR TRASH AND CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR GROUP! The bar is not open and the Hotel is not staffed to clean-up after our use of this area during lunch. If you have any questions as to any of these details, please contact Mr. Bode.
SPOKESMAN/GRADUATE CLUB LADIES NIGHT:
The final meeting of the Combined Spokesman/Graduate Club, a Ladies Night Dinner Meeting, will be held next Saturday evening, April 22nd, at the Adam’s Mark Hotel (where we’ve been meeting for the Spring Holy Days), 15th Floor, Executive Conference Room. Doors open at 5:30 PM, with Dinner beginning at 6:30 PM. Suggested dress is Sabbath-wear or better. Dinner will be catered by Jack Stack BBQ. Supplementary dinner items (side dish, dessert, cold drinks) are to be furnished by each Club member in accordance with the sign-up list on the Information Table, or by email to the Club Secretary, Mr. Dustin Gooding. Club members may bring cold drinks or tea, but NOT wine or other alcoholic beverages (alcoholic drinks can be ordered from the Hotel). Club members should be prepared to fully pay-up any remaining dues, and to pay their cost of the dinner, $16 per person ($32 per couple), payable in cash at the door to the Club Treasurer, Mr. Craig Jeschke. To pay in advance, Craig’s PayPal email address is cejetski@yahoo.com; or, if you prefer, mail a check to Craig Jeschke, 1905 Prairie Rd, Robinson, KS 66532.
SPOKESMAN/GRADUATE CLUB FOR NEXT YEAR:
As the current year for Club draws to an end this month, a sign-up list can be found on the Information Table for anyone NOT in club this year, who may be ready to participate in Club next year starting this fall. Those currently IN Club this year do not need to sign the list as they are “grandfathered” into next year’s Club, and if not planning to be in club next year can advise the Club Director accordingly. Club size is limited so please sign-up to ensure your space in next year’s Club.
