ROOFING FUND-RAISING PROJECT:

A reminder that tomorrow, Sunday, April 23rd, is our Church fund-raising roofing project.  Volunteers are still needed, both experienced roofers as well as those with no experience.  If you are not comfortable up on a roof, workers on the ground are needed to discard trash and other ground-based tasks to speed the project along.  Please find a sign-up list on the Information Table.  Many hands make for lighter work, and as many volunteers as possible are appreciated.  For questions or more information please see either Mr. Steve Olson or Mr. Rick Bolin.  The proceeds will go to replenish the Church Activity Fund that covers a number of local church expenses including flowers for funerals, social activities (such as our annual summer picnic and Summer Camp scholarships), and a number of other needs throughout the year.  Thanks in advance for volunteering!

NEW CANDLE FUND-RAISER:

To help meet our fund-raising goal for this year, and to allow those that are not able to participate in roofing projects, there will be a Candle Fund-Raiser.  The Candle fund-raiser is called Journey of Faith, and the candles are $12 each, with each fragrance having a different scripture on the jar.  Our goal is 150 candles, with the church activity fund receiving one-half of the proceeds.  Please pick up a brochure/order form from the informational table or directly from Paula Wells or Olivia Randolph to whom questions can be addressed.

The Cut-off date will be May 13th and the candles will arrive approximately two weeks thereafter.  Checks should be made to “KC Local Church.”  Your participation to help with this fund-raiser is appreciated.

MEMORIAL SERVICE:

The family of Sue Morley has designated Sunday, April 23rd, at 1:00 PM, for a memorial gathering for their mother.  The location is the Birmingham Town Hall, 510 Spratley Road, Birmingham, Missouri 64161, about 3.5 miles northeast of the intersection of I-435 & 210 Highways.  Her daughter, Mrs. Susan Little, wants to thank all of you for your kindness and prayers.

SPOKESMAN/GRADUATE CLUB FOR NEXT YEAR:

As the current year for Club draws to an end this month, a sign-up list can be found on the Information Table for anyone NOT in club this year, who may be ready to participate in Club next year starting this fall.  Those currently IN Club this year do not need to sign the list as they are “grand-fathered” into next year’s Club, but if not planning to be in club next year, please advise the Club Director accordingly.  Club size is limited, so please sign-up to ensure your space in next year’s Club!

FESTIVAL ASSISTANCE:

For brethren who anticipate needing financial assistance to be able to attend the Feast of Tabernacles next Fall, please see either Mr. Rand Millich or Mr. George Damon for a Festival Assistance form.  The form needs to be filled-out and returned to Mr. Millich for review & approval, who will then forward it to Church headquarters.

Additional Fund Raiser Information

Other than the ongoing “Best Choice Label” fundraiser we have not had any fund raisers in the past several years.   The Local activity account is used to cover the costs of a number of expenses including Flowers for Funerals, Local Socials including the Summer Picnic, Scholarships for Summer camp to mention some of the expenses.

Additionally we try to help a few who have a need to be able to enjoy the Dinner Meal at the annual KC family weekend.

Our account is in need of replenishment. We have scheduled one fund raiser this month a roof replacement plus the Spokesman/Grad Club is planning a fund raiser to be done in the near future.

The Candle Fundraiser is an opportunity to purchase or sell candles to friends, family, co-workers (similar to the well known Girl Scouts Cookie fund raisers). While this may not fit everyone’s personality those who excel at this have an opportunity to contribute wheras they may not be able to help with a roofing project.

Please do not feel compelled to purchase if its not in your budget or means to do so.
