Kansas City Local Announcements

ROOFING PROJECT SUCCESS:
A special thanks to all those who participated in the Bolin Residence Roofing Project last Sunday, many if not all of whom probably went home tired and sore. The roof was completed the same day, including removal of two layers of shingles, and replacement of the roof decking. Final numbers are still being determined, but preliminary indications are that an amount in excess of $1700 will be donated to the Local Church Activity Fund, less 10% for God’s tithe to be sent to HQ.
ANOTHER ROOFING FUND-RAISER:
Another roofing fundraiser has been scheduled for Sunday, May 7th, at the home of Mr. Bob White. As before, volunteers are needed, both experienced roofers as well as those with no experience. For those not comfortable up on a roof, workers on the ground are needed to discard trash and other ground-based tasks to speed the project along. Please see the sign-up list on the Information Table. For questions, please see either Mr. John White. As before, proceeds will go to replenish the Local Church Activity Fund. Thanks in advance for volunteering!
DON’T-MELT-AWAY-5K:
Looking ahead to mid-July, please save the date of Sunday, July 16th, to help out once again with the Don’t-Melt-Away-5K. Proceeds go to benefit Living Youth Programs and the Kansas City Family Weekend. We will need volunteers like we have in the past. Please sign up to volunteer through the website, dontmeltaway5K.com. You can also run the race at 50% off by entering the coupon code LCG0717 when you register. We hope to see everyone there!
NEW CANDLE FUND-RAISER:
To help meet our fund-raising goal for this year, and to allow those who are not able to participate in roofing projects, there will be a Candle Fund-Raiser. The Candle fund-raiser is called “Journey of Faith.” Candles are $12 each, with each fragrance having a different scripture on the jar. Our goal is 150 candles, with the Local Church Activity Fund receiving one-half of the proceeds. Please pick up a brochure/order form from the Informational Table or directly from Paula Wells or Olivia Randolph to whom questions can be addressed. The Cut-off date will be May 13th, with the candles arriving approximately two weeks thereafter. Checks should be made to “KC Local Church.” Your participation to help with this fund-raiser is appreciated.
TEEN ACTIVITY:
Teens and parents: Tonight, immediately after sun-set, is the teen bowling activity. On the Information Table are details about the activity and a sign-up sheet.
LIVE WEBCAST PASSWORD:
The password to access our local Sabbath and Holy Day live Webcast has been changed, and the new password will be needed to access the
weekly live broadcast of Sabbath Services starting today. The Password can be found in the weekly bulletin or you can request it from either Mr. Michael Roever, Mr. John Wells, Mr. Millich or any of the local ministers or Deacons. As a reminder, the Church administration has requested that passwords are not to be shared, and the Kansas City Live-Streaming services are for people within Mr. Millich’s region and should not be shared with people outside of the region.

SPOKESMAN/GRADUATE CLUB FOR NEXT YEAR:
For next year’s Spokesman/Graduate Club, a sign-up list can be found on the Information Table for anyone NOT in club this year, who may be ready to participate in Club this fall. Those currently IN Club this year do not need to sign the list as they are “grand-fathered” into next year’s Club, but if not planning to be in club next year, please advise the Club Director accordingly. Club size is limited, so please sign-up to ensure your space in next year’s Club! Depending on the total number of current and new members, it may be possible to have two Clubs, one for Undergraduate Spokesmen and one for Graduates.
FESTIVAL ASSISTANCE:
For brethren who anticipate needing financial assistance to be able to attend the Feast of Tabernacles next Fall, please see either Mr. Rand Millich or Mr. George Damon for a Festival Assistance form. The form needs to be filled-out and returned to Mr. Millich for review & approval, who will then forward it to Church headquarters.
