UPDATE ON BARBARA MOLUF:
Your continued prayers for Barbara Moluf and the entire Moluf family are much appreciated. Earlier this year, a neurologist gave a firm diagnosis of mid to late-stage Alzheimers for Barbara, and her health has continued to decline with the disease’s progression. Following the doctor’s advice to move closer to family members, this month Larry & Barbara have moved to the Houston area, where they now live a short drive away from David & Ashley Moluf. PRAYER REQUEST FOR ANNIE WILSON:
Annie Wilson reports: I went to the doctor Friday, August 23rd, because of the extra pain that I was having, for which I’ve been getting anointed every few weeks. My doctor said that my chest pains are coming from my Gastro-esophageal reflux disease (or GERD) affecting my esophagus and vocal cords, added to the stress with my mom’s dementia and her other health issues. The doctor told me that I need to try to stay as calm as possible because it could result in a stroke or heart attack. My whole body is hurting because of various damaged nerves and rheumatoid arthritis. I also have osteo-arthritis and fluid build-up that causes constant pain & swelling in my feet, knees, and legs. Your prayers for God’s mercy and intervention would be deeply appreciated!
LISA MCHENDRY SURGERY RE-SCHEDULED – SEPT 4:
Lisa McHendry received a confirmation that her my surgery (to remove a benign tumor from her back) has been re-scheduled for this coming Wednesday, September 4th, 1:30 pm, at Truman Lakewood Hospital. Lisa is so appreciative of the prayers from everyone, and is again asking for your prayers that the surgery goes well and recovery will be rapid.
BIBLE STUDY AT BEST WESTERN HOTEL – SEPT 4:
Our monthly Bible Study will be THIS COMING WEDNESDAY, September 4th, beginning at 7:30 PM (with doors opening at least by 7:00 PM). We will meet at our FORMER LOCATION, the Best Western Plus Hotel, 4825 NE Lakewood Way, Lee’s Summit, located between Lakewood Blvd and Woods Chapel Road, on the East side of Hwy 291, directly behind the Summit Grill & Bar. Please attend if at all possible!
INTERSTATE-70 CLOSURE NEXT WEEKEND – SEPT 6 THRU 9:
MoDOT (Missouri Dept. of Transportation) will close both directions of the 7-mile stretch of I-70 between I-435 and I-470/Hwy 291, from Friday, Sept 6th thru Monday, Sept 9th. Also included in the closure will be all ramps to/from I-70. The closure begins at 10 PM, Friday, Sept 6 and continues until 5 AM, Monday, Sept 9. Since some brethren may be affected in their travel to/from Sabbath services, please plan ahead as to alternative routes.
TEEN ACTIVITY – SEPT 14:
The Teen Family Outdoor Movie Night will be the evening of Saturday, September 14th, at the home of Taylor & Margie Jones. We will be serving hamburgers & hotdogs; please bring a side to share. PIONEER PROJECT – SEPT 15:
Pioneers, please mark your calendars for a work party fund-raiser…..we have a tree-trimming opportunity for fathers & sons to make a little money for future Pioneer activities. The project is planned for Sunday, September 15th. More details will follow as to the location and time of day. Stay tuned!
