PRAYER REQUEST – LISA McHENDRY:

This from Lisa McHendry:  It was recently discovered that I have a benign tumor on my back. Tests determined that it measures 3 inches across and 6 inches long.  Surgery to remove the tumor is scheduled for Wednesday, August 21st.  The last time I had surgery requiring anesthesia, the doctors had a hard time getting me to wake-up after the anesthesia had supposedly worn off.  Your prayers would be greatly appreciated to assure that the surgery and anesthesia proceed without complication, and that recovery would be rapid.

PANERA BREAD VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

So far, we had one person volunteer for Panera bread & bagels duties!  However, one or two more volunteers (from the eastern part of the Metro) would allow the rotation of duties, such as every quarter.  Duties include picking up and wrapping the bread products each Thursday night, then bringing them to Sabbath services.  The bread would have to be picked up from the Blue Springs Panera restaurant just off of Adams Dairy Rd. & I-70 at 9:00 PM each Thursday.  At your home, it would typically take less than an hour for two people to wrap the items.  Please consider this opportunity to serve your brethren!  If you can volunteer, please talk to Mr. or Mrs Dave Ostrom, or to Mr. or Mrs. David Manning.

STRONG BACK NEEDED FOR HYMNALS:

So far, we had one strong-back person volunteer for Hymnal duties!  However, one more volunteer would allow switching off every few months to allow their backs to recover.  Duties include storing the hymnals in one’s home, and bringing them to & from services each weekly Sabbath & annual Holy Day.  One person has been doing this week after week, unfailingly, without complaint, for many, many years. For the sake of his back, it is time for this duty to be passed on to others!  If you can serve in this way, please see Dave Ostrom or Jay Seaman.
