HEALTH UPDATE ON CATHY HOPKINS:
You may recall a prayer request about a month ago for Cathy Hopkins, stepmother of Jim Hutchins. She had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure, with her condition not showing any improvement. Jim Hutchins now reports that, since that time, the Dr. installed a stent and a pacemaker, giving Cathy noticeable improvement. Jim & Sherri Hutchins thank all of you for your previous and ongoing prayers for Cathy.
As a P.S., Jim & Sherri Hutchins will be moving this next week to Iola, KS, and will be attending with the Chanute, KS congregation. This will be their last Sabbath in KC before they leave, so please try to see them and wish them a hearty farewell!
TEEN CHOIR MEETING & SIGN-UP TODAY:
For those teens, ages 13 to 18, who are interested in signing up for the Teen Choir, there will be a meeting immediately after services today with Mrs. Sarah Manning in the East Hallway by the water fountains.
BIBLE STUDY – AUG 7:
Bible Study will be this coming Wednesday, August 7th, starting at 7:30 PM (with doors opening no later than 7:00 PM), at the Roger T. Sermon Center, Independence, MO, in the 4th floor meeting room.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
Many of us have enjoyed the Panera bread & bagels, as well as the sweet rolls and cookies, that are placed on the coffee table each week. We are looking for volunteers who live in the eastern part of the Metro area to pick up and wrap the bread products each Thursday night and deliver them to Sabbath services. The bread would have to be picked up from the Blue Springs restaurant just off of Adams Dairy Rd. and I-70 at 9:00 PM each Thursday. After bringing them to your home, it typically takes less than an hour for two people to wrap the items. If we can find multiple individuals or families to do this, we can rotate duties on a quarterly basis from one home to another so no one is burdened for a long period of time. Please consider this opportunity to serve your brethren! If you can help, please talk to Dave or Jan Ostrom, or to David or Sarah Manning.
STRONG BACK NEEDED:
One of the things most of us take for granted is that we will have hymnals available for our use each and every Sabbath. Many probably don’t realize that the hymnals must be stored in someone’s home and delivered to and from services each weekly Sabbath and Holy Day. One person has been doing this week after week, year after year, unfailingly, without complaint, for many, many years. For the sake of his back, it is time for this duty to be passed on to someone else! If you can serve in this way, please see Dave Ostrom.
