Local Announcements Dec 2, 2017

BOB POOLE’S HIP REPLACEMENTS:

Last November 13th, Bob Poole had his right hip successfully replaced.  He would like to thank everyone for their prayers, visits, cards, and calls.

PRAYER REQUEST (FOR RICHARD JOST):

Richard & Susan Jost are asking for your prayers for Richard.  Richard has recently had surgery to remove several stones from his bladder, however two very large stones remain which his doctor feels might be dissolved with medication.  Please pray for God’s intervention that the remaining stones will be safely dissolved without the further risks of additional surgery.

PRAYER REQUEST (FOR THE WIEDEMAN’S):

Melvin & Mary Wiedeman are asking for prayers for their healing.  Each has health issues that need God’s intervention.

UPDATE & PRAYER REQUEST (FOR MICHAEL ROEVER):

Michael Roever reports:  Two weeks ago, while at the cardiologist office, it was determined that God had mercifully caused my heart to return to normal sinus rhythm.  My gallbladder removal surgery has been scheduled for Monday, December 11th.  Your prayers for God’s mercy and blessing on the surgery would be much appreciated.

UPDATE & ASSISTANCE (FOR JIM HUTCHINS):

Jim Hutchins reports that recent tests show that the infection in his knee has been eliminated!  Pending no further flair-up after a week without antibiotics, he will soon be scheduled for a re-do of his knee replacement surgery.  For brethren who are willing and able to assist Jim at this time, please see the respective sign-up sheets on the Information Table as to meals or a main dish, and for men to visit Jim on week-days between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM.  As before, Mr. Jeff Sallaz has offered to drop off at the Hutchins’ home any cold or frozen dishes brought to Sabbath services.  If you are personally dropping off food or visiting the Hutchins’ home, please call Jim at (816) 482-1734 before-hand so he will know to expect you.  There are also small hand-outs on the Information Table with Jim & Sherri Hutchins’ address and phone numbers.

KC WEEKEND REGISTRATION & VOLUNTEER UPDATE:

For the Kansas City Family Weekend, we do ask that all of our local brethren register for the weekend, and sign up for dinner & activities.  This helps us greatly in the planning process.  Please see the Weekly Update from HQ as to registration details.

Thanks so much to all of the people who have volunteered so far, but we still need a few more volunteers:  If you can help out at the Concession Stand on Sunday at the Okun Fieldhouse, please talk with Aron and Heather Gunn.  We also need about 5 more Family Games judges so please see Rachel Keesee if you would like to be a judge for the Family Games.  There will be a Judges Meeting on Saturday night, December 9th, at Mike & Rachel Keesee’s home.

Lastly, we are also looking for a few materials for the weekend.  If you have any of the following items and would like to contribute them, please let Rachel Keesee know:

– 40 empty two-liter bottles.

– Large card stock sheets (roughly 12×12) or poster board.

– Red Silo cups.
