PRAYER REQUEST – EMILY PRINCE:
Prayers are requested for Emily Prince. She had been experiencing moderate abdominal pain off and on for a few months. She went to a doctor on Monday, who sent her for a CT scan Tuesday morning. The CT scan showed a 4 inch mass near her appendix, and she was immediately sent to Saint Luke’s and admitted there. Further scans showed inflammation and infection where the small intestines and large intestines connect, and the mass was determined to be an abscess that had formed around the area. She had surgery Thursday
morning, and doctors removed 6 inches of her intestines and appendix, as well as the abscess. She is recovering well and should be released soon. Early indications are that this was not cancerous, but is likely Crohn’s disease. She will be following up with other specialists after she is released from the hospital. Prayers are requested for a full recovery, and for her continued health.
PRAYER REQUEST – ERNA ANDERSON:
Randy Anderson’s mother, Erna Anderson, has been admitted to Mosaic Hospital in St. Joseph. She has had fluid taken off of her abdomen, having been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and already has a weak heart. Randy is asking for your prayers for his mothers health.
UPDATE & PRAYER REQUEST – MURIEL GUESS:
Mrs. Muriel Guess reports that her cataract surgery on here right eye, two weeks ago, went perfectly, and resulted in quick recovery and excellent vision in that eye. But please also pray that this same surgery on her left eye, this coming Monday, February 18th, be equally successful and rapid in recovery. Muriel thanks you for your thoughtful prayers!
FOOD PANTRY REQUEST:
We are once again in need of donations for the local church food pantry. Paper products as well as dried, boxed, or canned foods (with the exception of canned vegetables, we have plenty) would be welcome. Also, remember that the Days of Unleavened Bread will be here before long, so no leavening or leavened products, please. Any donations can be left by the Lost & Found and Church Booklet/Information Table at the west side of the meeting hall. Thanks for your help and concern for local brethren in-need! If you have any questions in this regard, please see Dave or Jan Ostrom.

DIGITAL LIBRARY UPDATES – THREE ITEMS:
1) The Digital Library has been moved to near the Information Table, on a trial bases. We are hopeful this new location will make checking-out Audio CDs & DVDs easier.
2) The Digital Library coordinator, Pamela Taylor, would like to provide other brethren a chance to serve in coordinating the Digital Library. There is a sign-up sheet at the Digital Library for anyone interested in serving for one month. If you have any questions in this regard, please contact Pamela Taylor at (816) 786-4478.
3) We are considering adding USB Flash Drives (of Kansas City Sermons) to the Digital Library’s Audio CDs & DVDs, for check-out by brethren. To alert the ushers, we would now like to see a show of hands by interested brethren, as to enough interest to make this option feasible.
CHURCH SOCIAL (WITH UPDATES) – MARCH 9:
Burgers & Bunco is the theme for the March 9th social at Vesper Hall in Blue Springs, MO. Hamburgers with all the condiments, hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, and chips will be provided. Bunco is a dice game for ALL ages, young & old.
AS TO TABLE DECORATIONS, we would love to get some creativity flowing with the table decorations, so please sign your name on the sign-up list on the Information Table to create a table centerpiece based on your theme. We will have several prize categories for centerpieces, such as “most creative,” “one-of-a-kind,” etc. You can have your family, a single person, or a group of friends sign-up. If you need on-line ideas, the Pinterest website is a great place to get some. You can also search on-line for “Bunco centerpieces,” which show a lot of concepts. Please take advantage of this opportunity to serve! If you have any questions, you can see Mrs. Paula Wells, Mrs. Alice Damon, or Mrs. Sherri Jacques.
IN ADDITION, there will be a baked-goods auction at sundown. Money raised will be given to the local church activity fund. If you would like to bring a homemade baked item to sell during the auction, please bring it into the meeting hall before services. We will need to know what’s being auctioned. Using a 3×5 index card (or equivalent), please put your name, what the item is, and if there is anything in it that people may be allergic to, such as nuts. If you have any questions as to baked-goods, please see Mrs. Linda Bode.
