Local Announcements Feb 29, 2020

Please take the time to lock your vehicles and to make sure no personal belongings are visible or in plain sight in the vehicles before entering the building for Sabbath services (and for upcoming Holy Day services, as well).  We have had a few incidents in the last few weeks with individuals snooping around and seeing if they could get into some of the vehicles in the parking lot.   We will have a few parking lot attendants for the next few weeks to ensure these individuals do not make another attempt on our vehicles while we are in services.  If you feel your vehicle has been tampered with, please let one of the ushers know so we may take note of it and report the incident.

Bud & Pauline Jersett wish to thank the Brethren for their prayers and support regarding Bud’s health and his heart-valve replacement surgery last Tuesday.  Bud’s surgery was successful and he is recuperating at home.  Your continuing prayers for his rapid recovery are appreciated.

Our monthly Bible Study will be this coming Wednesday, March 4th, at the Roger T. Sermon Community Center, 201 N. Dodgion Street, Independence, MO 64050 (SE corner of Truman & Noland roads) in the 4nd Floor meeting room.  Doors will open at least by 7:00 PM, with Bible Study starting at 7:30 PM.

The Spokesman & Grad Clubs will meet next Saturday evening, March 7th, at the home of John & Paula Wells, 2329 NE Lake Breeze Lane, Lee’s Summit MO 64086 (John’s cell is 816-729-8990 in case you are delayed in arriving on time).  Doors open at 6:00 PM; Club starts at 6:30 PM.  Please find Club assignments posted on the KCLCG.org website under the Resource Center tab.  As a reminder, the “Three-T’s” (Topics, Toast, & Timer) for each Club are to bring snacks & drinks for the break.

OPTION #1:  The Bodes have reserved a private room for the Night-To-Be-Much-Observed at EM Chamas, a Brazilian steak house located in the KC northland.  They have used this restaurant several times in the past.  For those interested, on the Information Table is a sign-up sheet.  Detailed EM Chamas flyers will be on the Table at a later date, having the location, more info on the meal, and the total cost for various meal choices (prices are the same as in the past).  In the meantime, if you would like more information, please call Linda Bode at 816-785-9283.

OPTION #2:   For the NTBMO, the Goodings have reserved a 22-person Banquet Dining Room at Luigi’s Italian Restaurant in Liberty, MO, on the Square.  Three entrées have been pre-selected from which to choose.  Six of the 22 seats have already been reserved, but plenty of seats remain, so please feel free to sign the Luigi’s sign-up sheet on the Information Table.  Contact Dustin Gooding with any questions at 816-433-7175.

OPTION #3:  You may wish to make your own NTBMO plans, such as with family & brethren in a relatively quiet room at a quality restaurant, or in your own home.

Hello everyone!  Mr. Taber and I have been working on some of the initial plans for the MO preteen camp.  We believe we have nailed down the specific activities we want to offer this summer and now Mr. Taber is trying to finalize the schedule of those activities.  If you have not already registered, it would greatly help our planning if you filled out your applications sooner rather than later!  Especially concerning staff, we have to make sure we have the right people for all the jobs that need to be done at camp.  We appreciate the nearly 60 applications we have received so far, but we need more!  Thanks in advance and we look forward to seeing you all in June!
