PRAYER REQUEST (FOR DANA BROOKBANK):
Dana Brookbank fell on black-ice last Monday (Jan. 8). She was taken to North Kansas City Hospital, and had surgery on Tuesday. She broke the upper bone (femur) in one of her legs, requiring replacement with a steel rod and pins. Dana will be doing her rehab at NKC Hospital for at least another week. She wants to thank everyone who has been praying for her, and would appreciate continuing prayers for a full recovery. If you would like to call Dana, her cell number is 660-214-0632. She would also appreciate visitors.
PRAYER REQUEST (FOR JIM HUTCHINS):
An update from Jim Hutchins: Jim was released from St. Luke’s East Hospital last Monday night following his January 4th knee replacement surgery, and is home recovering. For at-home physical & heat therapy, Jim is using a C.P.M. (Constant Progress Motion) machine for 6 hours a day (every day), where the heat portion starts at 60 degrees and increases by 5 degrees each day. The pain is pretty severe when using the machine, and likely the same when he starts doing outside physical therapy at a clinic (he was supposed to start therapy at the clinic on Wednesday, but the clinic had misplaced the paper-work). Brethren, please continue to pray for Jim Hutchins that God would grant him comfort and rapid recovery.
PRAYER REQUEST (FOR KIRK PRINCE):
Emily Prince reports the following: Prayers are requested on behalf of Kirk Prince. Kirk has a genetic blood disorder called “hereditary spherocytosis,” where his body produces abnormally-shaped red blood cells, which can cause a number of symptoms. His body works to destroy the abnormal blood cells, which can lead to blood shortages. Kirk’s case is mild and normally does not significantly affect his health, but over the past two weeks he has been struggling with extreme exhaustion, dizziness, fevers, and headaches that have left him unable to work and made even normal daily tasks difficult. He went to the ER a week ago (Friday, Jan 5th), where blood-work showed he was severely anemic. He had a follow-up visit earlier this week with a hematologist, who believes that Kirk picked up a viral infection, and that as his body has been working to fight off the virus, but it has also gone into overdrive in its attempt to destroy his red blood cells. He received a blood transfusion this past Thursday (Jan. 11) and is recovering at home. We are asking for prayers that he is able to pull through this quickly and get back to full health, so he is able to resume work and normal activities. Thank you!
