If you have a pioneer-age child and you missed the meeting two weeks ago, please find Mr. Burson or Mr. Keesee and provide them your email address so necessary information can be forwarded to you.
Please purchase the required uniform & binder for the first meeting if possible, but no later than the second meeting. Information for these items has been provided to those whose emails we already have, and can also be sent to others who need it, as mentioned above.
In addition, if anyone would like to make any small contribution to help with startup expenses such as patches, compasses, first-aid kit, etc., to please see Mr. Burson or Mr. Keesee on how you can help.
CHILD-CARE DURING THE PASSOVER SERVICE:
As stated in the World Ahead Update last week, Church Administration is asking us to make sure that we abide by the policies set forth, to ensure we do things properly and in order with the care of children while at a Church function or service. We are needing to get a list containing those individuals’ information to make sure we are following procedures and policies.
If you are a baptized member and are utilizing the child-care service provided by the Church for the Passover service, we need you to please sign the list on the information table with the names and ages of your children. Also, those Adults/Teens who will be watching over the children at the building during the Passover service, please sign the list no later than the Sabbath of March 24th to ensure sufficient time for the policies to be implemented.
HOLY DAY OFFERING ENVELOPES:
For offerings taken up on the upcoming Holy Days, please remember to use your green pre-coded Holy Day offering envelopes sent to you from HQ. If you did not receive these envelopes or you forget to bring one with you, the ushers will have blank envelopes available.
SPRING HOLY DAYS:
Looking ahead to the early Spring Holy Days, the location for Passover, AND for both Holy Days during Unleavened Bread, will be the Adam’s Mark Hotel, 9103 E 39th St, Kansas City, MO 64133. This is the same hotel where we met for Holy Days last year. After entering the hotel, walk straight down the main hallway. Signage will be in place to identify our large meeting room, and child-care or mothers room (as applicable to each day). See particulars below for each day.
PASSOVER: Thursday evening, March 29th at the Adam’s Mark Hotel. Those having assigned setup and other duties for the Passover service. will need to arrive at 6:15 PM. Doors will open for the general membership at 7:15 PM, with services beginning at 7:45 PM. Remember that Passover is for baptized members only. Child-care for babies & small children will be provided.
NIGHT-TO-BE-MUCH-OBSERVED (NTBMO): Friday evening, March 30th, at the location of your choice. Planning the evening is up to each family or small group, such as at home, or a restaurant (preferably in a quiet private room), or with the larger group meeting at Em Chamas Brazilian Grill (still having space for more brethren; see details & sign-up sheet on the Information Table). Just before sunset, relevant scriptures are to be read (or a Church-produced NTBMO DVD played), followed by the blessing of the meal, and the meal itself (with the majority of the meal eaten after sunset).
NTBR Video
If you will be needing a physical copy of this year’s new NTBR Video in DVD format or on a USB please advise Mr. John Wells who will have it available at Sabbath services to pick up the week of March 24th. Additionally the Video will be available to stream online from the kclcg.org website.
FIRST DAY OF UNLEAVENED BREAD: Saturday (weekly Sabbath) afternoon, March 31st at the Adam’s Mark Hotel. Doors will be open at 12:00 Noon. There will only be ONE service at our usual Sabbath starting time of 1:00 PM; an offering will be taken up. To clarify, no services will be held at Sycamore Hills School on this day. Because another group is meeting in the same large meeting room after our Church service, we must completely vacate the room by 4:00 PM.
LAST DAY OF UNLEAVENED BREAD: All day Friday, April 6th at the Adam’s Mark Hotel. Doors will be open at 9:00 AM for setup. There will be TWO services, with the morning service beginning at 10:30 AM, during which an offering will be taken up, and the afternoon service beginning at 2:30 PM. Between services, there will be a two-hour lunch break (12:30-2:30 PM). Everyone will be on there own for lunch. You may eat at the hotel restaurant (no special meal has been planned) or go to any number of nearby restaurants; be cautious about eating leavened foods. You may also bring in your own lunch, but only into our large meeting room. Please do not eat in the hallways and especially not in or near the hotel restaurant. If you eat in our conference room, you cannot bring in tables, but you may move around chairs as long as you put them back in place when you finish eating. We must vacate all rooms we are using 5:30 PM.
WEEKLY SABBATH OF APRIL 7th: Our weekly Sabbath of April 7th, is the day right AFTER the Last Day of Unleavened Bread. On April 7th, we will be back to our normal meeting place at the Sycamore Hills Elementary School, with services beginning at the normal time of 1:00 PM.
