CANDLE FUND-RAISER:

If you didn’t pick-up your order of candles last week, please do so today by seeing Mrs. Paula Wells or Mrs. Olivia Randolph.

CHANGE IN SABBATH LOCATION – MUST READ COMPLETELY!

Please listen closely as this is a very important announcement from Mr. Steve Bode.  This concerns where we will be meeting for our weekly Sabbath services beginning next week!

AFTER TODAY, BEGINNING NEXT SABBATH, June 3rd, we will NOT be meeting at the Sycamore Hills Elementary School through the summer until August 26th.  The Independence School District has informed us that a huge renovation project, including Sycamore Hills School, has been approved and requiring it start immediately.  However, they have agreed to provide us with another location for Sabbath services.  Beginning NEXT SABBATH and until August 26th we will be meeting at the Glendale Elementary School, 2611 S Lee’s Summit Road, Independence, Missouri.

The time of our weekly Sabbath services will remain the same at 1:00 PM.  Just as before, we can enter the building at 12:00 noon, but must be completely out of the building BEFORE 4:30 PM.

Sabbath services will be in the school’s CAFETERIA.  We are also going to have a separate room for our Mothers with Infants to use during services.  Since the Glendale school is also to receive “some upgrades,” it is likely that we won’t have the same room(s) throughout our use of the school.  However, the Glendale School is going to ensure that we have a suitable room available to us every Sabbath.  It is likely that this extra room will be a nearby classroom.  We can utilize this same room for our choir rehearsals after services.  And we will find a spot that we can use for ministers to use for anointing.  The location of an anointing room will have to be announced at the beginning of services NEXT SABBATH, June 3rd.

Please note this change of location is ONLY for WEEKLY Sabbath services.  For Pentecost on Sunday, June 4th, we will be meeting at the Nowlin Middle School, whose address and related information can be found in a separate announcement.

PARKING at the Glendale Elementary School will be on the north side of the school.  As you pull into the school driveway from Lees Summit Road, the parking lot will be on your left as you face the school.  THE ENTRANCE WE ARE TO USE is on the NORTH SIDE of the building accessible from the parking lot.  Once you enter into the building, go directly across the hall into the Cafeteria where we will be meeting.  For our first Sabbath meeting next week, we plan to have a volunteer stand at the entrance to the parking lot to help everyone identify where to park.  Please do NOT park in the circular drive at the front of the school.  The doors at the front of the school are to remain locked, so you wouldn’t be able to enter there anyway.

It is should be noted that the Facility Management of the Independent School District told Mr. Bode that they are deeply sorry for this inconvenience.  And, they added that they WANT us to remain as renters in their system.  This is simply something that developed suddenly.  And if they didn’t jump on the opportunity to have these improvements done, it might be a long time before it comes along again.

Mr. Bode has notified those involved with set-ups so that they will be aware.  Because Mr. Bode is in Wichita this Sabbath along with Mr. Damon, if you need to ask any questions of Mr. Bode, he will be back home sometime Sunday afternoon.  His cell phone is 816-468-7986.  Or you can email him at SBode4LCG@gmail.com…or at his other email address, KCBanjoNut@gmail.com.

PENTECOST SERVICES:

Pentecost services will be held on Sunday, June 4th, at a new location, the Auditorium of the Nowlin Middle School, 2800 S. Hardy Ave., Independence, Missouri 64052.  There will be two services:  the morning service will begin at 10:30 AM, during which an offering will be taken up (so please use your green pre-coded envelopes you received from HQ); the afternoon service will begin at 2:30 PM.

Early access for set-up personnel will be available at 9:00 AM.  At the close of day, we will need to fully vacate building by 6:00 PM.

A Conference Room labeled “Mothers Room,” located in the main hallway to the right of the School’s main entrance, will be available during services.  However, before and after each service, this same room will be reserved for

anointing.

PENTECOST PARKING & TRAVEL DIRECTION:

There is plenty of parking in the large parking lot on the north side of the school.  If you have no difficulty walking up a slope, please leave the parking spaces at the top of the slope (nearest the building) for handicapped or those with walking difficulty.  Entrance to the school will be via the front entrance of the school.  The auditorium is to the left just after you walk into the main

entrance.

PENTECOST SCHOOL RESTRICTIONS:

There are PLENTY of theater seats in the auditorium.  Therefore, unless you have a particular need to sit at the rear of the Auditorium, please sit in rows toward the front.  There will be ushers and possibly signs indicating the rear off-limits seating.

Please do not bring food or drink into the Auditorium other than water in sealed bottles.  Restrooms and water fountains are just outside the auditorium in the main hallway.

Other than the those hallways needed for direct access to the Auditorium and Mothers Room, no one is to roam other hallways or rooms in the building.  In this regard, please do not leave your children unattended or out of your sight.  While it is not likely that there will be school Sunday activities or staff working, we want to be courteous and quiet in case school staff are present or other activities are in progress.
