TEEN ACTIVITY & BIBLE STUDY – MAY 11th
Any Kansas City teens interested in an “Escape Room” activity next Friday, May 11th? If so, you will need to prepay, commitment & payment must be received by tomorrow, Sunday, May 6th. Cost is approximately $21.50 per person. Those participating in the “Escape Room” need to arrive at the Jacques home by 5:15 PM, Sunday afternoon. Families are welcome to come and hang out at the house until the teens get back (they will be supervised) for dinner and Bible Study. For those who just want to come only for dinner and Bible Study, be there at 7:30 PM. MORE STAFF NEEDED AT MO PRE-TEEN CAMP:
Mr. Gene Hilgenberg asks: Have you been looking for a way to serve God’s people? If so, I have an idea. Volunteer to serve on the staff of the Missouri Pre-Teen Camp. We have a need for more counselors, a camp nurse, and life guards. If you have the capabilities to be a life guard, but are not certified, let us know now and we can help with the certification. PENTECOST SERVICES:
Pentecost services will be Sunday, May 20th, at the Adam’s Mark Hotel, 9103 E 39th St, K.C., MO 64133. We will meet in the large meeting room on the Lobby Level. Signage will be in place to identify our large meeting room, and mothers room. Doors will be open at 9:00 AM for setup. There will be TWO services, with the morning service beginning at 10:30 AM, during which an offering will be taken up, and the afternoon service beginning at 2:30 PM. At the end of the day, we must vacate all rooms we are using by 5:30 PM, so be sure you have your belongings gathered up before 5:30 PM.
PENTECOST – LUNCH OPTIONS:
Between services, there will be a two-hour lunch break (12:30-2:30 PM). Everyone will be on their own for lunch. Since the hotel’s restaurant is still closed, you may wish to go to any number of nearby fast-food and sit-down restaurants. Or you may bring in your own lunch, but only into our large meeting room and not in the hallways. If you eat in our large meeting room, you cannot bring in tables, but you may move around chairs as long as you put them back in place when you finish eating.
PENTECOST OFFERING ENVELOPES:
For the Holy Day offering taken up on the Feast of Pentecost, please remember to use your green pre-coded Holy Day offering envelopes sent to you from HQ. If you did not receive these envelopes or you forget to bring one with you, the ushers will have blank envelopes available.
CHURCH CAMP-OUT:
The annual Church Camp-Out will be during the 4-day Memorial Day Weekend, from Friday, May 25th through Monday, May 28th. We are excited to announce a NEW LOCATION this year: The private Longview Group Camp on the east side of Perry Lake, located near Ozawkie, Kansas, 20 miles northeast of Topeka. The Longview Camp offers a shelter house, electric sites, shower house, disk golf course, fishing, and bicycling & hiking trails. THE COST FOR CAMPING IS $15 PER NIGHT, ELECTRICITY INCLUDED, FOR EITHER AN RV OR A TENT. A water-fill and a dumping-station are available.
