Local Announcements Nov 4, 2017

UPDATE ON MICHAEL ROEVER:

As most of you know, Michael Roever was taken to the hospital (St. Luke’s South) a week ago last Thursday with a gall bladder problem (now understood to be putting toxic fluid into his system), as well as a heart issue (which turned out to be AFib, extreme variations in the heart rhythm).  This past Wednesday, he went home to rest and to allow his heart to recover.  Later, he will be readmitted to have his gall bladder removed.  Your ongoing prayers for Michael are needed and appreciated!

PRAYER REQUEST FOR ANNIE WILSON (CLARIFICATION):

Your prayers are requested for Annie Wilson whose voice condition has seriously worsened.  At her Dr.’s appointment a week ago last Wednesday, she was diagnosed as having a voice disorder called Muscle Tension Dysphonia.  It occurs when the muscles around the larynx (voice box) are so tight during speaking (or singing) that the voice box does not work efficiently.  Results from involuntary movements (spasms) of the voice box muscles can be caused by stress muscles, tendons, and nerves in the back.  Annie was told by her Dr. to try not to speak too much, given it is painful to do so.  Annie’s voice condition has been ongoing for one year now, but is much worse currently, so your prayers for God’s intervention are much needed.

ASSISTANCE FOR JIM HUTCHINS (REVISED):

In addition to your prayers for Jim Hutchins recovery from his knee replacement infection, he and Sherri need help with the following:

FIRST is help with meals, so please see the “Hutchins Meals Sign-Up List” on the Information Table, if you are able to provide one or more meals during several weeks ahead.  Mr. Jeff Sallaz has offered to drop off any cold or frozen dishes brought these next several Sabbaths.  There is also a hand-out with the Hutchins’ address and phone numbers.  If you are personally dropping off food at the Hutchins’ home, please call before-hand so they will know to expect you.

SECOND, since Sherri works during the week, a man is needed to stay with Jim at home ONLY DURING JIM’S LUNCH-TIME to be sure he doesn’t fall and to help with his lunch, during the initial weeks of his recovery.  All that is now necessary is that you be at the Hutchins’ home for about two hours from about 11:00 AM thru 1:00 PM.  Please see the “Hutchins’ In-Home Helper Sign-Up List” on the information table, indicating what day or days you are available.  Please call Jim at (816) 482-1734 to coordinate the day of your lunch-time visit.

SPOKESMAN/GRAD CLUB:

Looking ahead to the next Club meeting on Saturday evening, November 18th, those with assignments may want to start thinking ahead on their subjects.  To confirm your assignment, they are posted on the kclcg.org website, under the Resource Center tab, then click on the Spokesman/Grad Club page.  If any reason you can’t access the website, or if you will not be able to attend, please see the Club’s

secretary, Mr. Grant Manning.

Lastly, for those giving speeches, if you haven’t already done so, please email Toastmaster George Damon with the info he previously requested, as needed to introduce you; gdamon@kc.rr.com.

COFFEE SERVICE SCHEDULE:

Stephen Erman will be soon working on the Coffee Schedule for next year 2018.  If anyone wants to be added or removed from the upcoming year’s schedule, please see Stephen Erman after services or email him at Stephenerman@hotmail.com or call him at 816-806-2464.  Please let Stephen know by the end of November so he can get the schedule completed and out to you in a timely fashion.
