FUNERAL – MARTHA JONES:
Martha Jones died peacefully, surrounded by family last Saturday night. Her visitation and funeral will be tomorrow, Sunday, November 10th. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:30 AM, both will be held at the Royer Funeral Home, 100 Royer Lane, Grain Valley, MO 64029. It was Martha’s request that in lieu of flowers, a donation could be made to the Church. Your prayers of comfort for the family are most appreciated.
HEALTH UPDATE – BERYL WILSON:
Good news from Ron & Beryl Wilson. Beryl has been discharged from “Home Care,” and she has recovered enough energy & strength to go out of the house as long as she does not overdue it. Thank you for all your prayers, food, flowers, cards, calls, and visits. Thanks to the “webcast” we have been able to be with you as we attended on-line the Feast and each Sabbath. God bless all, and we look forward to joining you in body as well as in spirit, from Ron & Beryl Wilson.
HEALTH UPDATE – RICHARD FILBERT:
In a previous health announcement, I misinterpreted what my cancer doctor had told me. Therefore, I need to make a correction. The doctors do not know for sure that I have myelodysplastic syndrome (as previously announced); this can only be determined by a bone-morrow test which is on-hold for now. I still have the symptoms: energy levels that are up and down; low white & red blood count; and low platelets count. I go to the cancer doctor every 3 months to be checked. If my symptoms get worse, then they will do the test. Thanks to everyone for your prayers & cards.
SPOKESMAN & GRAD CLUB MEETING – TONIGHT:
The initial meeting of the Spokesman & Grad Clubs will be TONIGHT, at the home of John & Paula Wells, 2329 NE Lake Breeze Lane, Lee’s Summit MO 64086 (call John’s cell if you get lost, 816-729-8990). Doors open at 6:00 PM; Club starts at 6:30 PM. This initial meeting will COMBINE BOTH CLUBS and serving as an orientation meeting. Meetings thereafter will be held on the same night, but with the two clubs meeting separately.
KC CHURCH SOCIAL – NOV 16:
Next Sabbath, November 16th, we will have Sabbath services followed by a KC Church Social, having the theme of “Friendsgiving.” The location will be Vesper Hall, 400 NW Vesper St, Blue Springs, MO 64014. Dr. Douglas Winnail will be our guest speaker for Sabbath services, with services starting at the normal time of 1:00 PM. Immediately after services, the room will be re-set for a Thanksgiving-themed meal. Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, and rolls will be provided along with drinks. Please bring your favorite side-dish or dessert to share. After the meal, following sunset, we will have an auction to raise money for the local church activity fund. For the auction, you may provide sweet items such as cookies, cakes, or pies, or a gift basket. After the auction, we will have another Pitch tournament, along with games for the children.
