PRAYER & FOOD REQUEST (for Jim Hutchins):
Jim Hutchins is at home recovering from a painful post-op infection in his knee replacement, with recovery time estimated at 2 to 3 months, during which Jim will be unable to work, creating a financial hardship. Along with your prayers for Jim, please consider adding your name to the food sign-up list on the Information Table. For food brought on the Sabbath, Jeff Sallaz has kindly volunteered to deliver it to the Hutchins’ residence after services. The Hutchins’ new address is 952 S. 74th Street, K.C., Kansas 66111. TEACHERS LOUNGE ISSUE:
Last Sabbath, when inspecting the Teachers Lounge, following its uses as our Mother’s Room and Coir Rehearsal Room, a dirty diaper was found in the room’s trash can. Thankfully, it was found and removed to a restroom trash can where we have been instructed to place them. Again, please ensure that diapers and baby-wipes are not deposited in the trash within the Teachers Lounge. If this continues, it may likely result in our losing the privilege of using the Teachers Lounge.
SPOKESMAN/GRAD CLUB:
The Combined Spokesman/Graduate Club will have its kick-off meeting this evening, beginning at 7:30 PM, at the Best Western Plus Hotel, 4825 NE Lakewood Way, Lees Summit, located between Lakewood Blvd and Woods Chapel Road on the East side of Hwy 291, directly behind the Summit Grill & Bar. Doors will be open by at least 7:00 PM.
For any that have not yet signed up, but have the desire to participate in this year’s Men’s Spokesman/Grad Club feel free to join this evenings Kick Off meeting. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to develop your ability to think on your feet and be prepared to serve to a greater degree as part of God’s family both now and in the future.
CHILDREN’S Y.E.S. BIBLE LESSON CLASS:
The Children’s Y.E.S. Bible Lesson Class will meet today immediately after services to go over Lesson #11.
FEAST OF TRUMPETS:
The Feast of Trumpets will be next Thursday, September 21st, at the Adams Mark Hotel, 9103 East 39th Street, Kansas City, Missouri, with services at 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM. An offering will be taken up during the morning service.
DAY OF ATONEMENT:
The Day of Atonement will be on the weekly Sabbath of September 30th, right here at Sycamore Hills Elementary School, with one service at 1:00 PM, during which an offering will be taken up. This day is a 24-hour fast-day (no food or water) extending from sunset the previous evening (Friday) to sunset at the completion of the Sabbath. Please check with one of the Elders if you are on medication or have a relevant health issue that might preclude a total fast.
