Local Announcements September 7, 2019

LISA MCHENDRY UPDATE:

Lisa McHendry reports:  My surgery went well last Wednesday, with no complications or concerns with anesthesia.  I am recovering at home and experiencing very little pain.  I would like to thank everyone for their  prayers.

 

INTERSTATE-70 CLOSURE THIS WEEKEND – SEPT 6 THRU 9:

As was announced last week, both directions of the 7-mile stretch of I-70 between I-435 and I-470/Hwy 291, along with connecting ramps, are currently closed until early next Monday morning.  Since some brethren may be affected in their travel home after services today, please plan ahead as to alternative routes.

 

KC CHILDREN’S CHOIR PRACTICE – TODAY:

Attention all children, ages 3-12.  The Children’s Choir will be practicing TODAY.  Please meet with Mrs. Brittany Bashus in the East hallway (by the water fountains) TEN minutes after services.  Please remember to bring your singing voices and good attitudes!

 

TEEN ACTIVITY – SEPT 14:

The Teen Family Outdoor Movie Night will be the evening of Saturday, September 14th, at the home of Taylor & Margie Jones.  We will be serving hamburgers & hotdogs; please bring a side to share.  Also a reminder to bring blankets as well as sweaters if the night-time weather is cool.  If you have any questions, please see Taylor or Margie Jones for more information.

 

PIONEER PROJECT – SEPT 15:

Pioneers, please mark your calendars for a work party fund-raiser…..we have a tree-trimming opportunity for fathers & sons to make a little money for future Pioneer activities.  The project is planned for Sunday, September 15th.  We will meet at the home of Taylor Jones at 9:00 AM, and then caravan to the job location about 15 minutes away.  The duration of the work is estimated to be 3 to 4 hours.  Please dress appropriately for the job, with jeans, good work shoes (or boots), and gloves if you have them.

 

“KNOW BEFORE YOU GO” INFO:

In a white notebook on the Information Table is a copy of the “Know Before You Go” Feast Information, for you to look at.  You can also view this info by logging on to your MyLCG page on the www.cogl.org website.  For those without Internet access or who are unable to print from the Internet, please request a copy from Mr. George Damon.

 

DAILY RIDE AT OZARKS FEAST:

Although Mr. Walter Cook has a ride to & from the Lake of the Ozark before and after the Feast, circumstances have changed such that he now also needs a daily ride to the Feast site from his motel, The Quality Inn, located at 3501 Bagnell Dam Blvd., Lake Ozark, MO 65049.  If you are also staying at the Quality Inn or another motel in the area, and can offer Mr. Cook a daily ride, please see Mr. George Damon, so he can put you in touch with Mr. Cook.
