PERSONAL CHURCH RECORDS UPDATE:
It’s that time of year again to update your personal Church records (phone, address, new babies, etc.). In the next few weeks you may receive a call from Mr. or Mrs. Jacques (from a 405 area code) to update your current information. Thank you all for your quick responses and assistance in getting these records updated as soon as possible.
NO SYCAMORE HILLS SABBATH SERVICES ON DEC 29:
Because of the KC Family Weekend, there will not be any Sabbath services at Sycamore Hill School on December 29th. Instead, Sabbath services for that date will be held at 1:30 PM in the Embassy Suites Hotel as noted in the KC Weekend announcements.
KC FAMILY WEEKEND – DECEMBER 28/29/30:
For the KC Weekend, all Friday night (Dec 28) and Sabbath (Dec 29) activities will be in the Grand Ballroom of the Embassy Suites Hotel near KCI Airport. The Embassy Suite’s address is 7640 NW Tiffany Springs Pkwy, Kansas City, MO 64153 (just east of the I-29 & Tiffany Springs Pkwy interchange).
We will begin with a Bible study at 7:30 PM Friday night (Dec 28), then a Bible study at 10:00 AM Sabbath morning (Dec 29), followed by Sabbath services at 1:30 PM, all in the Embassy Suite’s Grand Ballroom. Our featured guest speaker from Headquarters this year will be Mr. Jonathan McNair.
Saturday evening schedule:
• 6:00 PM dinner begins.
• 7:00 PM fun show begins.
• After 8:00 PM dance begins.
On Sunday, December 30th, for more fun, come on out to Okun Fieldhouse, 20200 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS 66218. We have a variety of activities for all ages, including a card tournament, concessions offering tasty food, and plenty of fellowship opportunities.
9:00 a.m. – Sports Bible Study.
9:30 a.m. – Refs, Scorekeepers and Judges Meeting.
10:00 a.m. – Contest of Christians I.
11:00 a.m. – V-ball Tournament, B-ball Clinics, Small Children’s Games.
12:00 p.m. – Lunch Break.
12:30 p.m. – Contest of Christians II.
1:30 p.m. – Volleyball, Basketball games (11 and up), Gaga Ball!
** Gaga Ball, Card Tournament available after Family Games.
KC WEEKEND SINGERS REHEARSAL:
The KC Weekend Singers will meet for a rehearsal 20 minutes after services today in the Mothers’ Room.
CHILDREN’S SONG PRACTICE:
For children participating in the KC Weekend Children’s Song, there will be a practice at the Embassy Suites Hotel, in the west hallway, next Friday night, December 28th, promptly at 6:30 PM. This practice is just before the evening’s Bible Study.
TEEN/FAMILY DINNER & BOWLING – JANUARY 12:
After Church services on January 12th, teens & their families will begin the evening with a pizza dinner and fellowship at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Bobby Jacques, 1309 NW Hilltop Lane, Grain Valley, MO 64029; please bring a drink or dessert to share. Afterward, we have reservations for bowling at Diamond Bowl & Billiards, 218 N Osage St, Independence, MO 64050, from 7:30-9:30 PM. Teens will have their own lanes for bowling, and their families can bowl as well. Cost is $10 per person. We must have a final count and payment-in-full no later than Friday, January 4th.
