FEAST HOME-BOUND LIST:
If you didn’t pick up a copy on Trumpets, additional copies of the Feast Home-Bound Brethren for Kansas City Area are on the information table. The intent of the list is to provide you with the opportunity, during the Feast, to send a thoughtful card or note to these brethren, letting them know you are
mindful of them. Feel free to pick up a copy of the list during the lunch-break or after services today, one copy per family, please. If we run out of copies, more will be available on Atonement; or before then, send an email to Mr. Damon, gdamon@kc.rr.com, and he will email back a copy to you.
ATONEMENT SERVICES:
Services for the Day of Atonement will be on Wednesday, October 12th, and held at the same location as Trumpets, at the Adams Mark Hotel. There will be one service beginning at 1:00 PM, during which an offering will be taken up. Remember that the Day of Atonement is a 24-hour fasting day (NO food or water), extending from sunset Tuesday evening, October 11th to sunset the following evening, Wednesday, October 12th. If you are on medication that you feel should not be interrupted on this fast day, or have other health concern, please consult with either Mr. Millich, Mr. Wells, or Mr. Jones. We will have about an hour after Atonement services for fellowship, and will need to vacate the Conference Room by 4:00 PM, or at least please move into the hallway.
SABBATH AFTER ATONEMENT:
For Kansas City brethren, our next Sabbath service after Atonement and just before the Feast, will be October 15th, located at our normal Sabbath location, Sycamore Hills School, with services starting at the normal time of 1:00 PM. Please be aware that there will NOT be a webcast of services that day.
SABBATHS DURING & FOLLOWING THE FEAST:
For the Sabbath of October 22nd, occurring during the Feast of Tabernacles, there will be no local services here at Sycamore Hills. For the Sabbath of October 29th, immediately following the Feast, Sabbath services will resume here at Sycamore Hills at the normal time of 1:00 PM.
NO BIBLE STUDIES DURING OCTOBER:
Because of its proximity to the Holy Days and the Feast throughout October, and brethren traveling, there will NOT be a any in-home Bible Studies during October.
WORK PROJECT VOLUNTEERS:
Volunteer lumber-jacks are needed for a work project on Sunday, November 13th, to cut and remove two trees. The proceeds will be used to help reduce the cost of the Kansas City Weekend for all who attend. There is a sign-up sheet at the information table. Please sign-up immediately after church so we can be sure of enough help to complete the job!
SERVING DURING THE KC WEEKEND:
Many brethren, over this past year, have indicated the desire to serve in some way at the KC Weekend. With this in mind, there is a real need for judges for the Family Games on Sunday during the weekend. The Family Games event is a high-light of the weekend, and your help is required for a successful event. Please sign-up at the information table today!
Atonement Location Update at the Adams Mark
“The Adams Mark has relocated our location in the hotel. They apologized for the problem with the air-conditioning last week. This alternate location will help us to have cooler temperatures and better air flow. Just watch for the signs on the doors as you walk down the hallway from the main entrance.”
